Brevard’s 4th Friday Gallery Walk
Enjoy an evening stroll in downtown Brevard as you enjoy visiting the art galleries, art stores, retail stores and restaurants that are staying open late from 5-9 pm. Most galleries have new artwork each month, while you enjoy wine, munchies and music. Be sure to look for the 16 sculptures and five murals located in downtown as well. Galleries participating include: TC Arts Council, Number 7 Arts and Crafts Cooperative, Red Wolf Gallery, Bluewood Gallery, Drew Deane Gallery, Gallery on Main, Hollingsworth Gallery, Hunters & Gatherers, Gravy, Local Color and Continental Divide. Tapas Tasting for the Arts
A Tapas Tasting for the Arts will be held on Sunday, July 25 starting at 6 pm at the Hollingsworth Building in downtown Brevard. Join the Transylvania Community Arts Council at this new and exciting event, which will raise funds for the TC Arts Council’s Arts-In-Schools programs.
The evening will include Tapas tastings provided by local caterers, music provided by local musicians as well as art on display by local, yet internationally known artists. Tapas Stations include: Greek, Spanish, Indian, French and Southern. |

The TC Arts Council is celebrating 25 years of creativity in 2010 and this event is celebrating 25 years of creating a community tapestry of the arts and weaving those threads into a beautiful “Crazy Quilt” of the future. One of the volunteers for the event is long time TC Arts supporter Mary Sauerteig, " We are all excited about doing this event. It is fun to work with so many creative people and we all believe that we are working for a good cause, the Arts-in-the-Schools program."
This special fundraising event will take place on the second floor of the Hollingsworth Building located at 147 East Main Street in Brevard, which houses Main Street Ltd. and Quotations Coffee Shop. Tickets for the event are $40 per person. Call the TC Arts Council at 828-884-2787 to order tickets.
The Tapas Stations are being produced by: Greek Station - Beth Womble, Cindy Platt, Miranda Fuleihan, and Shannon Womble; Spanish Station - Gloria Sanders, Susan Klopp, Judy Thompson, and Jinks Ramsey; Indian Station - Mary Sauerteig, Renee Braun, Linda Muir, and Mary Ann McGarry; French Station - Elaine Wood, Jean Brendle, Tine Liegerot, and Mary Read; Southern Station - Poo Cabe, Ann DerGara, Carlene Jerome, Gail McCarty and Beth Best.
Caterers for the event include: The Falls Landing, Marco Trattoria, Cakes and Such, Ingles, Quotations, Poppies, and The King of Tarts. Musicians for the event are: Marc Yaxley, Michael Creech, Danny MacMahan, Rutledge Leland and Matt Gardner. Artists featured at the event are: Ann DerGara, Judy Duff, Larry Gray, Dan Bresnahan, Aaron Alderman, Michael Ammerman and George Peterson.
Wine is being donated by Main Street Ltd. and the beer tasting is being donated by Craggie Brewing Company. Overall sponsors for the event include: Wells Fargo Advisor – Will Morris, Main Street Ltd., Hollingsworth Building, and Think It Studio. Summer Art Camp

The Transylvania Community Arts Council invites youth ages 5-12 years old to explore visual arts, music, dance and pottery. There are morning and afternoon sessions available. Morning session goes from 9 am – 12 noon and the afternoon session goes from 1 pm – 4 pm. Cost for the week-long art camp is $75 per child. Arts In Schools
Every student in the Transylvania County School system---almost 4,000 in all---receives curriculum-related performances and study guides annually. Professional artists/educators provide week long Artists-in-Residencies in public school classrooms, providing students with in-depth, hands-on learning experiences. Take Art to Heart volunteers teach visual arts and critical thinking skills to first, second and fifth grade students. Every Spring TC Arts plays host to the Transylvania County Student Art Show for students K-12. TC Arts makes more than 13,000 student contacts annually.
TC Arts Council partners with Transylvania County Schools, Transylvania County Library, Porter Center at Brevard College and Brevard Philharmonic to put on the Arts In Schools programs.
